Mavericks surf contest

The Mavericks surf contest was on today: the Super Bowl of surfing, as the Merc writes. Ten thousand people were watching (or trying to) near the cliff on Pillar Point. A popular occasion for the locals here to skip work, which would be a second-in-a-row, as yesterday was the monday after the real Super Bowl - aka Hangover day.
