The San Francisco winter

... is notoriously better than its summer. A sunny winter day just after a period of rain can be absolutely glorious. Today was such a day: the sun was out all day, the sky deep blue, the hills around the Bay green, and, in particular: the views crystal clear; a rare thing, since the horizon is most of the time masked by a haze of fog and/or smog (the recent rain sort of cleansed the atmosphere).
