Almaden Quicksilver Park

This is the Guadeloupe Reservoir in Almaden Quicksilver Park. They used to mine mercury here, or rather cinnabar, which is the ore from which mercury can be extracted. I was here on my bike, training for the Sea Otter Classic taking place next month. I signed up for the singlespeed class; I will suffer.
