Craigslist offers RSS feeds of their search result pages - you can do a specific search (say, cars for sale on the SF peninsula, price between 7K and 10K) and subscribe to the RSS feed of the resulting search result page in your RSS reader of choice (in my case, bloglines). Then, you can easily keep an eye on it and quickly find out whenever new ads appear...
